ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY WALK INTO MORDOR

Predator will always be great! it's my kind of Alien. Millions of people who have enjoyed, like me, the remarkable trilogy by Tolkien were certainly apprehensive about this film. Folks, fear no more. The archetype characters and themes in the books resonate clearly and powerfully through this film. The cinematography and the score, the acting and the pacing, all combine to bring this story to breathtaking, startling life. This is possibly the closest to perfect any film has ever come. The Fellowship of the Ring is action, comedy, drama, tragedy, all rolled into a magnificent single package that absolutely does not seem to last three hours. I wanted more. If you have not seen this movie, stop dithering and rent it. Try to find a friend with a big screen TV and a real home-theater system in order to be able to experience this on the level it should be. Glorious film-making. My hat goes off to Peter Jackson for his daring, and also to Ian McKellan: you deserved that Oscar. 10 stars of 10.

I already seen all of the movies of predator

I don't think words can describe the nostalgia one feels when they see a panning shot of the Shire and hear Concerning Hobbits playing in the background. I was introduced to LotR only in the last year, so this is not coming from someone who grew up with it. I don't know what I would give to live in the Shire. I hope to one day visit New Zealand and go to Hobbiton. These are the best movies (and books) on the face of the planet, in my opinion. I would give almost anything to have had a part (even the most minuscule part) in one of the films, but alas, I was not old enough. And they may do a remake someday, but it just wouldn't be the same...

When I first saw aliens i jumped. What happens next to the alien doggy. From the very first frame I was hooked. Starting with an excellent prologue that tells the story of the Ring and how it finally turned up in the hands of Bilbo Baggins. And we´re also told that evil once again is moving, and then we cut to one of the most beautiful pictures I´ve ever seen. Frodo sitting under a tree in the Shire, waiting for Gandalf. So incredibly beautiful.
The tale about the famous Ring has been read by so many, and now the first movie is finally here. It remains pretty faithful to the book, although the whole Tom Bombardill-part has been rightfully cut out. Some characters have also swapped places, everything to the movie´s advantage. It rarely feels slow, and the length is perfect. Luckily, the book´s few women Arwen (Liv Tyler) and Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) have been given more screen-time here.
Peter Jackson certainly did a smart move when he picked his homeland New Zeeland as camping ground for his masterpiece. The country has everything the movie needs and I don´t think I´ve ever seen such beautiful landscapes. Jackson also proves that he is a superb director when it comes to both emotional dialogue and intense action bits.
The casting is probably the best I´ve ever seen, all the actors fit their roles without any flaws. Elijah Wood simply IS Frodo and Sir Ian McKellen sets the tone perfectly for Gandalf. The relatively unknown actors who portrays the other Hobbits are great, and so are old favorites of mine, Viggo Mortensen and Sean Bean as Aragorn respectively Boromir. And there is no doubt that Orlando Bloom will be a superstar, after his awesome turn as cool elf Legolas. But the movie´s most touching performance has to be credited to Ian Holm, as Bilbo Baggins. Perfect casting.
"The Fellowship of the Ring" simply has everything, and if there is any justice in the world it will bag just as many awards at this years Oscars, like "Titanic" did a few years ago. I suggest that the Best Director award should go to Peter Jackson, Best Supporting Actor to Ian Holm, Best Actor to Sir Ian McKellen and, of course, Best Film to the movie itself. I´ve already seen it twice and I can´t wait to see it again. Not only the best movie of 2001, but one of the best I´ve ever seen!

The captions at 3:10 are Sit down, Legolas. but another translation of the Elvish is also Be calm. Legolas is ready to throw hands to defend his favorite human, and Aragorn asks him to take a chill pill. I love how Frodo adds I mean, more than usual after saying that Bilbo has been acting odd.
